Looking for an empowering experience? The Day of Well-being & Creativity is for you!

Since 2022, Edit and her team of dedicated volunteers from Tulipane Design have brought women together twice a year in Brussels for an experience like no other: the Day of Well-being and Creativity.

I am Vittoria, one of the first volunteers of Tulipane Design and I would like to tell you the story of the initiative of the Day of Well-being & Creativity.

First of all, I find the idea quite unique because it badly wants to create a space where women can relax, explore, and recharge. As Edit, the Founder says: “to build something where women could truly feel themselves, connect, and leave feeling ready for action."

Sisterhood and self-discovery

The Day of Well-being and Creativity is designed to foster a sense of sisterhood, bringing women together through conversation, movement, art, and mindfulness practices. Held each March in celebration of International Women’s Day and again in November to mark the Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the event has a deep purpose. It offers a blend of personal development, community building and self-care, all centred around empowering women.

Caroline, for example, is another volunteer of Tulipane Design since the beginning and she says, she finds it great to see women discovering new parts of themselves. Every time, you see people leave feeling more uplifted.

A space for All women

What is also quite original about the initiative is that it is open to women of all ages and backgrounds, so there is no segmentation or cherry picking. At the last editions, we were between 80 and 100 participants, and that is not a too big number to kind of form a temporary community. I also appreciate the venue which is a sustainable, zero-waste place in Ixelles, even with chicken at the background garden. If this does not reflect a commitment to community, environmental responsibility than what? :)

Rich programme

I really liked the structure of the programme. There are three key pillars Mind, Body, and Soul and under each of them there is a rich programme developed with the help of 15 talented coaches, artists, and teachers:

  • Mind: Workshops cover burnout prevention, time management, and discussions on feminist issues, along with meditative practices.

  • Body: Attendees can engage in movement-based sessions like yoga, dance (cheerleeding as the picture shows) or join discussions on sexuality, cycle and eco-friendly cooking.

  • Soul: Art-based workshops like jewellery making, painting, crochet, and reflexology allow participants to explore their creative side.

Adriana, a volunteer assisting with the Soul workshops, shared that: “I watched women relax into creative expression. These hadnmade activities are a good way to self-discovery, and this event is the perfect space for that.”

Lasting connections

Between workshops, participants can connect in the networking area, explore products by local artists, and enjoy coffee, tea, and snacks. These breaks are a time to relax, make new connections, and share thoughts. Lee, a regular attendee, remarked, “The friendships I’ve made here mean so much. This community stays with you long after the day is over.”

The recent Day of Well-being & Creativity held on 30 November at Elzenhof, was quite of an unforgettable day. Edit, the Founder can be glad as I am sure many true connections were made.

Myself, being a volunteer model for previous jewellery collections, and a regular attendee at the Day, I think the 10 volunteers present on site did a terrific job and local brands brought even more colour to the venue. I felt warmth and empowerment, and the people I talked to felt also valued and inspired.

Thank you so much for attending/helping this edition and if you have not participated yet, this is a place to be!

See you next year!

Hugs,

Vittoria
